what goes around comes around

we're finally in the house and i've come to the executive decision that i need to get rid of half my clothes. i do have a wonderful new large closet and my husband has his own husband size closet but whilst unpacking my duds i came to the conclusion that i don't need most of this. and that's a hard thing for me to admit.

i bought this dress for my college graduation in 2002 and i really haven't worn it since, but i still drag it with me everywhere we have moved, utah to alabama to georgia to missouri to alabama again and finally south carolina. breaking up is hard to do.

it will be a hard dumping since maxi dresses are back in style big time. hopefully this dress won't make a scene when i break the news to her. i hate drama and the whole "it's not you it's me" speech, especially since that's never true. if you break up with someone, it's them.
plus, my husband LOVES red and black together so i know he was keen on this outfit.
dress- byu bookstore back when dinosaurs roamed the earth
shoes- target
belt- target

and yet, i am already thinking that i should give it another go until spring. just in case we rekindle our relationship. i mean, i've had her this long, what's a few more months?

Keep it! I love that dress! And I love borrowing it when I am in town.

Why don't you wear it? What is it about it that you either don't like or wish were different? I think it's super cute, but maybe it's not really your style anymore? Give me your reasoning for wanting to discard it and then I'll weigh in with a solid opinion.

What?! Keep! (Unless, of course, you're absolutely positive it's gotta go..)

bratalie- i don't like the arm holes, they are cut rather high. i wish it was about 3 inches longer and a little more full in the skirt. that's about it. but mostly if the arm holes didn't fit so snug i would wear it more casually, maybe? i feel like the chiffon fabric doesn't allow for me to wear it with flats because then i feel too schlumpy and not a sophisticated casual but a black nurses shoe worn with a dressy dress kind of non-casual sloppy.
this is non-sensical. enjoy!

I KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO SAY THE SLEEVES/ARM HOLES!!!! I knew it. I'm amazingly in tune with you, even from 1/2 across the country. Chuck it. That ain't going to change and would be a beast to try to fix yourself. Give it to someone who might enjoy it more. And feel no remorse. No sense in staying in a relationship that isn't going to progress and/or contribute to your happiness. Send it to Heather since she likes it so much.

I agree w/ Natalie, chuck it if its just taking up space. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I'm really leaning towards platinum and you may have sealed the deal.

If it is just taking up space, then get rid of it. If you still wear it, keep it!

Heidi. This is your aunt Marie and cousin jen. We are catching up and mindfully reading your blog. I mean mindlessly. Ha. Ryan and bob are watching a combo of BYU TEXAS and UTES and USC and we are acting all interested but secretly reading your blog and totally entertained. Like I said, we are enjoying the outfits. Do not get rid of this dress. Kelly Ripa wore a maxi look-a-like recently. It is timeless, classic, and looks great on you. Love it------and you.
