big girl make up

i'm not really a make up person. my relationship with make up sounds like the premise for a lifetime movie, i love it but i'm also afraid of it. i stick to my basic minimal face pretty much everyday. i only own two make up palettes, boring and halloween. they are difficult to confuse. i rarely(never) venture out with a new look for fear of looking like i tangoed with the clown car of a circus parade. i recently asked my friend karina(of prom dress fame) to help me with my face. she's an expert and unofficial MAC representative and she rocks a smoky eye.
nude(and weird) before face:

midway point:

the lovely karina and her perfectly organized DRAWERS of make-up.

the finished product:
i loved it. i felt like a mature adult. it's not my most common emotion. normally i veer toward the sensibilities of a 13 year old boy.
dress and jacket both target.
whole outfit under $10 thanks to the clearance rack.

I love it! Really brings out your eyes. Can she show us a neutral eye with a pop of lip color?

I've always been surprised you don't play up your eyes more since I think you have FABULOUS eyes and great lids for eyeshadow. Your brow bone is the perfect frame for some serious smokeage! Go you for being brave and go Karina for obviously being awesome. She's like Carmindy, but in Simpsonville.

PS- I heard from a h.s. friend on FB that Greenville is getting an Anthropologie. Are you excited? Indifferent? Inquiring minds would like to know...

Way to go on that Target clearance rack outfit -I LOVE it! I got a few floral dresses myself this week for $5. I was excited. I just like the basic makeup too, but I'm never without my lipstick/lipgloss! My mother taught me to never leave the house without it!

You can't go wrong with MAC makeup! It may be a little pricey, but such a wonderful splurge!
