reserved for the queen

pretty much my favorite tv show of all time is "i love lucy". i remember watching it as a 5-year-old before afternoon kindergarten and each episode has only gotten better with time. i also really loved "the jetsons" and i wanted to be judy jetson when i grew up. but that hope was soon dashed as animation was explained to me. it also weirded me out when my mom told me she used to watch "i love lucy" and "the jetsons" when she was young, because she has always been my mom and never had a life before me. i digress.
today i channeled lucy in the grape stomping episode:
blouse- gap
belt- fossil
skirt- thrifted
shoes- target

my handsome, good-humoring photographer in the reflection:
and when the wind blows, this skirt looks like i am smuggling watermelons in the backyard.
plus, this is another shirt on the chopping block. i only like it tucked into a high-waisted skirt. and it requires a TON of ironing. 100% silk with a majillion ruffles.

Oh I hate the hard to iron shirts- but you look beautiful! Red suits you!

Oh, of course this dress is thrifted. They just don't make skirts that fabulous anymore.

I ADORE I love Lucy! I watch it all the time in the kitchen while I'm cooking. That blouse is beautiful, but I know what you mean. It's really hard for me to wear full or fluffy blouses. It just feels like too much. Love the gray and red together....giving me ideas! Hugs! ~Serene

...smuggling watermelons - that's great! I had to scroll back up and see why you had said that though because IT WAS AN EXAGGERATION!
Love the blouse though!! Great color and detailing!

Um, are you not even going to mention where in the world you are? Or is straddling a crocodile just so common for you these days. :)
I LOVE I Love Lucy. You might recall I named by favorite Horse that. But of course she was just Lucy for short.
Oh, and you look beautiful as always. I am glad I have fond memories of going to a thrift store with you for YW. Did you know that when the Friends of MS come and pick up your unwanted stuff, they then sell it to Savers? I had no idea, until I finally asked them. Am I talking too much?
