expanding belly, no expanding budget

this pregnancy i am absolutely determined to wear clothes that i completely and totally love. when i am on my "monthly"(haha, many of you know me better) cycle, i just want to shop to help relieve some of the pms burden of raging hormones. should that be any different with 9 months of raging hormones??? when i was prego with reagan i only bought a few things for myself and wore regular clothes as long as possible. i know that having all new maternity clothes isn't imperative for any pregnant woman as you are only wearing maternity for about 5ish months right? but i still want a few trendy, fashionable pieces to help me feel hot and delicious with my expanding belly. let's just say my current wardrobe just isn't cutting the mustard. the only thing my wardrobe is doing is cutting into my stomach. unfortch, the stuff i really really pine for is WAY out of my budget. what's a girl to do?

white tee why in the world is it SO hard to find maternity tees without bunnies and geese or phrases like "big belly" or "what's cookin'?" not exactly the message i want to convey. that's almost like saying, "please come invade my private space and touch my stomach." perhaps one day i will rub someone's stomach right back.

i'm a big believer in spending whatever it takes to help you feel cute while you're pregnant -- even if you'll only be wearing the clothes for 5 months. i say go ahead and get whatever you want. splurge on yourself. you deserve it!

I get nervous when it comes to thinking about buying maternity clothes. I guess since this is my first pregnancy, I just don't know what I am going to look like around 5-6 months (I am about 3 months right now). I think all the clothes that you have on this post are super cute and I agree with you, Logan is not going to want to spend a ton of money on clothes that I will only be wearing for a short amount of time. What is a girl to do???

Ladies, you have to remember that you'll most likely be pregnant more than once! Maternity clothing is worth spending money on since you'll wear it 4 to 5 months this time around, plus next time, plus any more times you get pregnant. Three kids puts you at wearing these clothes for close to a year and 1/2. That's worth the money! I have regular clothes in my closet that I never got a year and 1/2 worth of wear out of.

Is is possible for you and Thomas to set a maternity clothes budget? Especially since you weren't able to/didn't buy much w/Reagan, how bout Mr. Lawyer giving the go-ahead to spend a few extra bucks on some cute things?

I always had a hard time with maternity clothes too! Everything looked cute on the model-but not on me. I am short and frumpy. Target should have solid t-shirts. You always look cute in anything you wear! Maybe splurge for 1 or 2 really cute outfits so you won't feel too guilty. We want to see some pictures of your little belly!

All I'm saying is that when Will encourages me to splurge a little on myself (splurge in our house meaning I have $20 to spend on clothing for me!), I'm more apt to do it. Perhaps Heidi just needs a little encouragement from her hubby to go ahead and spend the money (frugally, of course. You're definitely right about her and her frugaliciousness!)

I love the black dress!

You absolutely HAVE to rub someone's belly the next time they rub yours. It will teach them to think twice before rubbing a stranger's baby hump!
